Our Heirloom Chrysanthemums are starting to show color and in so many different forms. From the button clusters in pinks, greens and oranges to the palm sized quills and of course, the florists favorite the incurves that are grown for the huge disbuds. Here at Frogmore, we have over a hundred varieties, something to tempt everyone from growers to backyard cutting gardens. They last for 10 days in the vase, longer if cut as the bud opens, in the garden they are blooming for weeks until the weather becomes too cold and spoil the flowers. Then a cut down sees them settle for the winter recharging for the spring. While they can grow to a great height a prune down to 20 cm eight weeks before flowering keep them at a suitable size for the garden and grows extra blooms - bonus If you want to grow the enormous blooms seen in shows, disbudding them to a flower per stem and feeding appropriately will increase the size and quality.
